ABOUT
Ginn is a singer, songwriter, actor, and dancer who found her love of writing music during the pandemic. She has sung everything from opera to 80s rock, and is memorable as a powerhouse performer of vocal versatility, commanding stage presence, and theatricality. She recently debuted her new unreleased music at Whiskey Jam, Breaking Sound at Eastside Bowl, Bus Call and the Cobra. Her latest single, Magic Hands, explores a fusion between pop and rock; she likes to describe it as if Ariana Grande and Avril Lavigne had a child.
“So to all the record labels, every radio station, every awards show, my hope is that we're more open to the joy and liberation that comes from enjoying art with no preconceived notions." This Beyonce quote inspires Ginn to make music without putting herself in a box. She aims to inspire artists to stop allowing others to tell us who we are and what we can do, and to be open to creating art without "corporate branding" in mind. In this day and age, the average listener is becoming more genre-fluid, at 55 genres per listener on average in 2023, suggesting that artists are able to become more free as well.
She draws inspiration from artists like Ariana Grande, Alanis Morisette, Avril Lavigne, Paramore, Christina Aguilera and Billie Eilish. Her first single, ‘Potions’, is a unique blend of pop, funk/soul, jazz, and rock, and is a reflective and bittersweet journey through the tumultuous ending of a toxic relationship.
She loves entertaining crowds and personalizing their experience. A native of St. Petersburg, Florida, She began singing and acting at a young age, eventually earning her degree in musical theatre from Belmont University. Ginny is currently based in Nashville, TN, and spends her weekends downtown, singing in the party/rock band (Hype Creek) she founded, fronts, and manages, at venues like Whiskey Row, Lucky Bastard Saloon, and more. She has performed in over 20 cities in the US and in Canada, including at famous venues like the Ryman Auditorium (alongside Blake Shelton, The War and Treaty, to name a few), Bridgestone Arena (for the Nashville Predators Game), and the Schermerhorn Symphony Center (alongside Sheryl Crow). She also frequents writers rounds in the area.
